学生が自己の能力や適性、志望に応じて卒業後の進路を主体的に選択し、社会的、職業的な自立を図るために必要な能力を培うことを目的として整備された大学内の支援体制。ガイダンスの実施、就職に関する情報の収集・提供等を学生支援の一部として行う。大学は、当該大学及び学部等の教育上の目的に応じ、学内の組織間の有機的な連携を図り、支援のための適切な体制を整えることが求められている。

An institutional support system to foster a students’ ability to responsibly choose their careers after graduation according to their own abilities, aptitudes and aspirations and to achieve social and vocational independence. Career guidance and the access to information on employment opportunities are provided as component of student support services. According to the Standards for Establishment, universities are required to promote systematic collaboration between different departments in appropriate arrangements in accordance with their educational objectives.
