職能や学術の分野等の区分ごとに行われる評価。なお、文部科学省の依頼により日本学術会議が、３３の学問分野について分野別参照基準を作成・公表している。これらの参照基準は、学士課程における各分野の専門教育が、その核として共有することが望まれる基本的な考え方を示し、各大学が教育課程編成において参考にすることを通じて、大学教育の質の保証に資することを目的としている。

A review and evaluation for a specific professional or academic field. At the request of MEXT, the Science Council of Japan prepares and publishes field-specific reference standards for 33 academic disciplines. The purpose of these reference standards is to contribute to quality assurance in university education by setting out the basic approaches considered to be desirable common core elements of specialist education in each field in undergraduate programs, so that universities can refer to the standards when organizing academic programs.
