国立大学法人の経営に関する重要事項を審議する、国立大学法人に必置の機関。学長、大学総括理事、学長が指名する理事及び職員、並びに学外の有識者で構成される。また、構成員の過半数は学外の有識者から選出しなければならない。国立大学法人の運営に学外者の意見を的確に反映するとともに、学長の意思決定を支えるために審議を行うことが期待されている。

The Management Council considers important matters concerning a national university corporation’s management. It is composed of the president, executive trustee, trustees and staff members appointed by the president and external experts. The majority of members must be experts selected from outside the university. These councils are expected to ensure that the views of people outside the university are accurately reflected in the management of the corporation and that the president makes appropriate decisions.
