私立学校の設置を目的として、私立学校法の規定により設立される法人。2020年４月施行の改正私立学校法に、学校法人の責務として、学校法人は、自主的にその運営基盤の強化を図るとともに、その設置する私立学校の教育の質の向上及びその運営の透明性の確保を図るよう努めなければならないことが明記された。

A corporation established under the provisions of the Private Schools Act for the purpose of founding a private school. The amended Private Schools Act that entered into force in April 2020 stipulates that incorporated educational institutions have a responsibility to engage autonomously in efforts to strengthen their management base. The Act also stipulates that they must strive to improve the quality of education at the private schools that they establish and ensure the transparency of their management.
