日本の高等教育においては、特に特定の種類の人材養成を目的とする教育課程の編成の際に必須に含むべき授業科目群を指す。特に、医学、歯学、看護学、獣医学、法科大学院、教職課程等のためには文部科学省が主導してモデル・コア・カリキュラムを設定している。
Core Curriculum コア・カリキュラム
A set of subjects that should be included as the indispensable subjects of an academic program organized for the purpose of fostering specific types of human resources. In particular, MEXT has taken the initiative in setting model core curricula for medicine, dentistry, nursing, veterinary medicine, law schools, teaching programs, etc.
