教育課程の編成及び実施方法に関する基本的な考え方をまとめたもの。この方針の策定にあたっては、教育課程の体系化、単位の実質化、教育方法の改善、成績評価の厳格化等について留意することが必要である。大学等がこの方針を策定、公表することが学校教育法施行規則によって義務づけられている。機構の認証評価では、同方針が明確に定められているか、卒業認定・修了認定の方針と整合的であるかを分析、評価する。機構の認証評価の基準では、教育課程方針と表記している。

A policy document summarizing the organization’s approaches to the delivery of academic programs and assessment. In formulating such a policy, institutions must consider issues such as the systematization of academic programs, credit substantiation, the improvement of educational methods and fair grading. Universities and colleges are obligated to formulate and publicize a curriculum policy in compliance with the Articles 165-2 and 172-2 of the Regulation for Enforcement of the School Education Act. In the certified evaluation and accreditation conducted by NIAD-QE, the policy of an organization is evaluated in terms of the clearness and the consistency with the diploma policy.
